Reports from Northern Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan indicate that the fires are not burning as fiercely as yesterday, but the wind threatened to fan the flames into activity again.

A dispatch from Calumet, Mich., says that Willis Seaman, an instructor in the Michigan College of Mines. and Rodney Burnham, while out fishing in a canoe, were hemmed in by fire. Attempting to break through the fire, their shoes were partly through the fire, their shoes were partly burned from their feet. Both also lost a portion of their clothing.

Further Disasters Threatened.

Calumet, Mich., May 15.---There has been no rainfall as yet to relieve the fire-stricken districts of Northern Michigan, and still further disasters are feared unless rain comes soon. Nothing but dry weather is forecast before Tuesday, however. The fire area in Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontagon and Barags Counties is increasing daily. The flames are being fought in all parts of the district with back fires.
