THE LOST IN THE MYSTERY.

A service was held yesterday afternoon at Grace Church, One Hundred and Sixteenth-street, near Third-avenue, in memory of Mr. Joseph W. Bartlett, one of the young gentlemen who was on board the yacht Mystery, which was wrecked at the entrance to Buzzard's Bay, on the southern coast of Massachusetts, Aug 12, and, who, with all the others on board, was drowned. Mr. Bartlett was a member of Sagamore Lodge, No. 371. F. and A. M., and all the members of that lodge who are now in the City were present at the services held yesterday. At 4 o'clock Mrs. Bartlett and her two daughters, dressed in deep mourning, entered the church. After a hymn had been sung by the choir the Rev. D. B. Ray, Rector of the church, made a short prayer. The Rev. John O. Bache, associate Rector, and also a member of Sagamore Lodge, made an address, in which he alluded to the love and respect with which the young man had inspired all those who were intimately acquainted with him; to the pure life he had always led, and to the sorrow felt by his relatives and friends over his untimely death. The Rector then read a letter from William H. Andrews, Master of the lodge, who is now at Rocky Bar, Me., who spoke of the great sorrow he felt for Mrs. Bartlett and her daughters, and ordered that the lodge go in mourning for their deceased brother. After a hymn had been sung by the choir and congregation the relatives of the deceased man were escorted to carriages in waiting by the members of the lodge, and were driven to their homes.

The Late Mr. Bartlett

The following appears among the death notices in the New York papers this morning:

BARTLETT. -- Lost on the yacht Mystery, Joseph Winthrop Bartlett, only son of Philena [?] and the late Joseph W. Bartlett, of this city, aged 22 years.

A memorial service will beheld at Grace church, 11?th street, near Third avenue, Sunday afternoon, September 30, at 4 o'clock. Friends are invited to attend.
