--------
PROBABLY NOT MR. BARTLETT'S BODY.
NEW-HAVEN, Sept. 18.---A dispatch was published in several newspapers to-day stating that a body washed ashore last Sunday at West Falmouth, Mass., is supposed to be that of Joseph W. Bartlett, of New-York, who was lost from the yacht Mystery on Aug. 12. The yacht left this city for an eastern cruise on Aug. 10, those on board being Leicester Sargent and his brother Rupert, Robert H. Hawkins and Mr. Bartlett. The bodies of Mr. Hawkins and Rupert Sargent were recovered, and now, if the supposition in to-days dispatch should turn out to be true, the body of another of the unfortunate quartet has been washed ashore at about the same place where the boat went down, and the other two bodies were found. A. W. Parmelee, with Sargent & Co., of this city, told a reporter to-day, however, that he had doubts about the body being that of Mr. Bartlett, for the reason that in such an event agents engaged by Mr. Parmelee at West Falmouth would have certainly telegraphed on Sunday or yesterday to this city. Mr. Parmelee added that he had this morning received a letter dated yesterday from Mrs. Bartlett at Boston, and she had received no news of her son.
