NEW HAVEN ROAD GETS PITTSFIELD STREET RAILWAY.

Sale Is Outcome of Recent Fatal Accident on the Dalton Line.

Pittsfield, Feb. 14.---The Pittsfield Street Railway Company, the "Road of Accidents," was sold this afternoon to the Berkshire Street Railway Company, one of the New Haven road's trolley tributaries. PITTSFIELD LIFTS "DEATH LINE" BAN.

Rescinds Order Closing Its Branches---New Haven to Pay $900,000.

Boston Journal Special Wire.

Pittsfield, Feb. 15.---This city's approval of the sale, effected yesterday, by which the Pittsfield street railway passed into the control of the New Haven road, was officially manifested tonight when the Board of Aldermen rescinded the order closing two of the railway's branches, which it passed last Wednesday night, following the fatal accident at Dalton.

The injunction issued on Friday by Chief Justice Knowlton of the Supreme Court, which followed the company's defiance of the aldermanic order, has not yet been dissolved, but an arrangement was perfected by City Solicitor Warner tonight whereby the company is operating cars over all its tracks for the first time in several days.
