West Springfield, MA Auto Wreck, Jul 1934


Albert Wilse of Walton street, Chicopee, and George Curley of St. James Avenue, Holyoke, are in the Springfield hospital following an automobile accident on Wayside avenue, West Springfield, when their car struck a tree and was totally wrecked. Both men have lacerations on the head but the condition of neither is serious.

According to the report given West Springfield police, control of the car was lost in some undetermined manner as the automobile was traveling west on Wayside avenue. It struck a large tree on the north side of the road and the right side of the car was demolished, all the windows broken and the top ripped off. Passing motorists took the men to the hospital. Sergt. John B. O’Brien and Patrolman John T. Mearthy of the West Springfield police are investigating.
