Mittineague, MA Barn Fire, Jun 1907

The West Springfield fire department was called out about 12:30 o’clock yesterday morning by an alarm from box 54. The fire was in the barn of John Riley of Boulevard street, and had gained a good start before it was discovered. The hose company responded quickly, however, and the horse and wagon in the barn were saved, although the barn itself, thanks to the straw and other inflammable material in it, was burned to the ground. The loss will probably be about $500.
