Williamsport, MD Train Bridge Collapses, Dec 1908

FOUR DEAD IN BRIDGE FALL.

PIER AND SPAN ACROSS POTOMAC RIVER COLLAPSE.

Martinsburg, W. Va., Dec. 16. -- Four persons were killed today and four others were hurt when a pier and span of the new bridge across the Potomac River at Williamsport collapsed. Two of the injured are expected to die.
Those killed and injured in the collapse of the bridge were:

ROSS H. BICKEL, Dauphin, Pa.
JAMES G. MEYERS, Bendersville, Pa.
GEORGE STIFF, Roanoke, Va.
CHARLES GUSSLER, Duncannon, Pa.
Injured:
CHARLES MOORE, Steelton, Pa., head crushed.
JEROME HOLLENBACK, Highspire, Pa.
JOHN L. NACE, Pennbrook, Pa., both legs crushed.
FRANK L. BENNING, Buffalo Mills, Pa.
