BOY KILLED AND TWO HURT IN EXPLOSION.
SET OFF DYNAMITE CAP NEAR CUMBERLAND; VICTIM'S MOTHER COLLAPSES.
Cumberland, Jan. 13. -- (AP) -- One youngster was killed and two others were injured late today in the explosion of a dynamite cap at Corriganville just outside the Cumberland city limits.
The dead boy identified as ARTHUR WILLIAM WOLF, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wolfe, of Corriganville; PAUL WILLIAM BENNETT, 13, also of Corriganville, and ARTHUR'S brother, PAUL, 10, were critically injured.
"MICKEY (ARTHUR) held one in hhis hand and it it with a match," the BENNETT boy told police.
State Police Lieutenant W. E. O'Hara and Trooper William S. Baker said the explosion occurred in a clearing in a wooded section near Wills Creek.
O'Hara said investigation showed some dynamite caps had been taken from a quarry across the creek from where the blast occurred.
State Police were called from the quarry office after two boys passing by on bicycles heard the explosion.
The parents of the WOLF boys were on a Sunday drive at the time of the accident. State Police intercepted them, but by the time they arrived at the Hospital the older boy had died.
Mrs. Wolf collapsed when she was given the report,
