Van Buren, ME House Fire, Apr 1907

The Van Buren house at Van Buren, owned and occupied by Frank a Lovering, was totally destroyed by fire late Sunday night with all the contents. The fire caught from an explosion of a kerosene lamp. Many guests had to escape from the second story windows and lost their effects. Mr. Lovering and family escaped in their night clothes. The hotel and furnishings was a total loss of $6,000.; insured for $2500.
