BOAT, 3 ABOARD SOUGHT OFF MAINE

HARPSWELL, Maine, Dec. 28 (AP)--The Navy and Coast Guard joined forces today in a search for a missing lobster boat with two men and a boy aboard.

The Coast Guard said the craft last was seen while fishing between Eagle and Brown Cow islands in lower Casco Bay in a snowstorm yesterday.

On board the 37-foot power boat were Lawrence C. Estes, Jr., his 14-year-old son, Stephen and Estes' nephew, Harry Jewell, 16, all of Harpswell.

Maurice Moody, an uncle of Estes who identified the boat's occupants, said Estes' punt, used as a tender smashed on the shore of Jewell's Island.

A helicopter from the Naval Air Station at Brunswick joined a Coast Guard plane from Salem, Mass., and a boat from the Cape Elizabeth lifesaving station in combing the bay and checking the shores of its numerous islands.
