Three Hurt in Crash

Three persons were injured Saturday night when two cars collided at the corner of Fern and Hickory streets. Mrs. Ann Bouquet, 26 years old. 1735 Burdette street, was driving up Fern Street when her car is said to have struck an automobile driven by John Kincaide, 22, 7720 Nelson street, as it was going form Hickory street into Fern street. After the collision, Kincaide lost control of his car and it struck a truck parked about 25 feet from the scene of the collision.

The injured were Mrs. Bouquet, who suffered a possible fracture of the skull, lacerations of the scalp, and general body contusions; her son, Andrew Bouquet, lacerations of the scalp, and Miss Nell Bergerson, 20, a passenger in Mrs. Bouquet’s car, lacerations of the scalp. The three injured persons were taken to the Charity Hospital by a passing motorist, where Mrs. Bouquet remained for observation, and the two others were released.

Dudley Barbay, 25 years old, 1705 Fourth Street, Saturday afternoon received a fractured left hand when the automobile he was driving overturned after colliding with another auto at South Solomon street and Cleveland avenue, according to police.

Police said that Barbay’s car collided with the auto driven by Louis Cavell, 45, 3125 Pamyra street. After he was treated at hospital, Barbay was booked in the 10th precinct station on charges of reckless driving, causing damage and injury. Cavell was booked on the same charges police said.

Six negroes were injured Saturday morning when an automobile in which they were riding is reported by police to have been overturned at Audubon Boulevard and South Claiborne Avenue.

Henry Golden, Jr., 18-year-old negro, 2017 Poydras street, was driving up South Claiborne avenue when his auto is said to have been struck by an automobile operated by Emile Steib, 33-year-old negro, 2224 Josephine street.

Golden received brush burns and contusions of the back. Others riding in the automobile with Golden who were injured were Henry Golden, 45, brush burns of the knees; Audry Golden, 4, brush burns of the knees and arms; Ledger Golden, 39, contusions of the body and probable fracture of several ribs; Edward Young, 25, brush burns and contusions. All of the injured persons live at 2017 Poydras street.

The injured negroes were taken to the Charity Hospital in ambulances and in private automobiles.

Steib was arrested and was booked at the Seventh Precinct station on a charge of reckless driving and causing injury.
