Lake Charles, LA Lebiana Hotel Fire, Mar 1913

Hotel Fire in Lake Charles.

LAKE CHARLES, March 29—Guests fled, many only half-clad, from the Lebiana hotel at 1 o’clock this morning, while the structure was almost enveloped in flames. The fire had gained a great headway before it was discovered. The loss is estimated at $29,000 with $11,000 insurance. A remarkable fight against great odds saved the new $90,000 city hall, which was damaged to the extent of possibly $500.
