Lexington, KY Street Car - Auto Wreck, Dec 1917

Two Hurt In Collision of Street Car and Auto

Anderson Hawkins and Max Latterman Bruised in Accident

An automobile in which ANDERSON HAWKINS, of 225 Wilson Street, and MAX LATTERMER, were riding, skidded and crashed into a street cat on Deweese street, between Second and Third Streets, shortly after 11 o’clock last night. Both HAWKINS and LATTERMER were severely bruised but escaped serious injury. The machine was slightly damaged.

As the car and machine, approaching from opposite directions, were passing, the rear wheels of the automobile skidded, throwing the body of the machine against the car. Both were moving at a low rate of speed, which probably saved the two men in the machine from more serious injury.

HAWKINS immediately went to his home, where his injuries were attended. LATTERMER was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital to have his hand, which had bee severely cut by the shattering of the windshield dressed.
