Four Men Killed in Mine Explosion.

MADISONVILLE, Ky., Jan. 25.---(AP)---An explosion at the mine of the Flat Creek coal company, seven miles east, killed four men today.

The dead: FRED MONROE of Madisonville, mine superintendent, and CHESTER COFFMAN, KARL CURRY and ALONZO UTELY, all miners.

The men were in a moat at the mouth of the mine which has been flooded by backwater. The powder magazine fell into the mine, resulting in the explosion.

The bodies of the men had not seen recovered tonight from water into which they fell.
