Cherryvale, KS train wreck, Dec 1891

NOW ANOTHER BAD WRECK.

MANY INJURED BY CARS ROLLING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT.

CHERRYVALE, Kan., Dec. 17. - The south-bound passenger train on the Southern Kansas, due at 4:10 A. M., was wrecked two miles north of this city this morning, caused by defective ties. The express car, two regular coaches, and the sleeper were all hurled down a high embankment with about forty pasengers on board. Fire broke out, and all the cars ditched were entirely consumed.
