NOW ANOTHER BAD WRECK.

MANY INJURED BY CARS ROLLING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT.

CHERRYVALE, Kan., Dec. 17. - The south-bound passenger train on the Southern Kansas, due at 4:10 A. M., was wrecked two miles north of this city this morning, caused by defective ties. The express car, two regular coaches, and the sleeper were all hurled down a high embankment with about forty pasengers on board. Fire broke out, and all the cars ditched were entirely consumed. The engine and the baggage and mail cars did not leave the track.

The passengers who were able went bravely to work to save the seriously injured ones, and all were rescued before the fire had consumed the coaches, although quite a number of the unfortunates received severe burns. The passengers were brought to this city and taken to the Sherman House, where medical aid was summoned to alleviate the suffering of the injured.

Her little daughter, injured internally.

JAMES OSTRANDER, Wellington; collarbone broken.

T. L. LARNES, Lawrence; badly burned face and internal injuries.

J. GIBSON, Severey, Kan.; injured back and head.

MOSES THOMPSON, Spirit Lake, Iowa; head, neck, and shoulder hurt.

T. P. JOHNSON, Houstonia, Mo.; slightly bruised about the head.

C. E. STEWART, Shenandoah, Iowa; head, neck, and shoulder injured.

D. B. FULLER, Eureka, Kan.; slightly injured internally.

Dr. G. W. CRESS, Galesburg, Kan.; badly burned hand and cut on head.

F. BACON, Wilton Junction, Iowa; fractured shoulder and cut on head.

E. W. SPIELMAN, Topeka; back and head bruised.

JOHN H. BROWN, Kansas City, Kan.; cut on head and shoulder.
