Phillipsburg, KS Train Wreck, Jul 1905
ROCK ISLAND TRAIN WRECKED.
Four Passengers, Including Mrs. Geo. Riselle of Fort Worth, Are Severly Injured.
Phillipsburg, Kan., July 18.---While going at the rate of forty miles an hour, Rock Island passenger train No. 41, westbound, was wrecked ten miles east of here today, severely injuring four passengers.
The injured:
J. Cleveland, Houston, scalp painfully cut by flying glass.
Mrs. George Riselle, Fort Worth, Tex., abdomen badly injured.
J. V. Penner, Concordia, Kan., back injured, scalp wound.
J. C. Siddon, face cut.
It is supposed the accident was caused by a bar of iron dropping down from the front trucks of the chair car, causing the tracks to spread.
