Five of His Children Lose Their Lives.

FIVE LIVES LOST.
Kansas City, Mo., May 11. -- C. H. WILKINS, a colored farmer, lived at Anthony, Kan., in a dugout, together with his wife and five children. The heavy rain of the last few days loosened the earth so that it caved in, killing all five of the children and fatally wounding MRS. WILKINS. The husband escaped with a broken leg and sprained back.

The Roof of a Cyclone Cellar Falls on a Family Seeking Shelter Therein.

ANTHONY, Kan., May 11. -- WILLIAM WILKINS and wife and five children, colored, thinking a storm was brewing, retired into a cyclone cave at their residence in the southwest part of the city. The went to sleep and the heavy rain had undermined the house that the roof fell on the sleeping people.

WILKINS succeeded in getting out and aroused the neighbors, who assisted him in rescuing the wife alive. The five children ranging from 6 months to 14 years, were taken out dead.
