Tornado in Kansas.

Hillsboro, Kan., ----A tornado struck Goessel, a German Mennonite settlement 15 miles southwest of here, early Thursday, destroying the largest store in town and several residences. Several persons were badly injured.

Havoc Wrought by Tornado.

Hillsboro, Kan., June 8.----A tornado struck Goessel, a German Mennonite settlement, 15 miles southwest of here. The town was practically destroyed. About 80 persons were injured. The most seriously hurt are: Katie Fendrichs, 12, leg broken; Henry Ratzlaff, a farmer, hurt internally, may die; Dr. Peter Richert, injured about head; Rev. John Toevs, leg broken. The tornado laid waste a strip 200 yards wide. Several stores and 12 residences were demolished, and every residence in town was damaged. The Classen mill and the German parochial school, nearing completion, were wrecked. The large Mennonite hospital was only slightly damaged. The injured were taken there for treatment.
