------Malott, daughter of Otis Malott, killed on a farm near Hiawatha, Kas.

James Rosenbaum, killed by lightning at Germantown, south of Hiawatha, Kas.

------Pelton, boy 8 years old, killed in a Hiawatha schoolhouse.

The rain was unusually heavy five miles south of Hiawatha. As wires are down and roads are washed away little information about the damage there could be obtained tonight. Farmers in motor cars started in relief of the stricken district, but high water and mud forced them to give up the trip.

At Hiawatha, a farmer doing his evening work, paid no attention to the threatening clouds, but later said the wind suddenly "dipped down," and when it had passed, his home was in ruins, his leg broken and his wife dangerously injured.
