IOWA TOWN WAS HIT BY BIG FIRE.

IT IS NEARLY WIPED OFF THE MAP BY FLAMES WHICH BROKE OUT DURING THE NIGHT.

Stanhope, Ia., Nov. 17. -- The town of Stanhope with fifteen hundred population was nearly wiped out by fire last night. Twelve business houses, a hotel and many stables were burned. The loss is fifty thousand dollars. There was no water and citizens were compelled to stand in the streets and see the town burn.
