THREE KILLED IN WRECK

Baby Girl Escapes Death in Crash of Train and Carriage

Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Oct. 22.-- Three persons were killed by a Chicago and Northwestern train near Lowden, Iowa, yesterday afternoon. The train struck a carriage containing Mrs. Charles Luett, her two children, and her brother-in-law, William Luett. A baby girl was the only one who escaped death.

Mrs Luett's mother and a son of Mrs. Luett probably owe their lives to the fact that they got out of the carriage to w???? the crossing fearing just [illegible] as happened.

The Washington Post, Washington, DC 23 Oct 1906
