Moscow, IA Mill Boiler Explosion, Oct 1897

THREE MEN KILLED.

BOILER IN A GRIST MILL AT MOSCOW, IA., EXPLODES.

Muscatine, Ia., Oct. 5. -- The boiler in a grist mill at Moscow, 12 miles from here, exploded during the morning, killing:
Engineer W. R. SPEERS.
The Fireman.
A farmer named MAROLF.
Injured in the explosion were:
J. E. PARKER.
C. SMITH.
H. JACOBS.
A boy named HUNT.
The boiler, weighing 2,500 pounds, was blown over 400 feet.
