Odebolt, IA Ruins Collapse, Feb 1907

THREE KILLED.

BUILDING PREVIOUSLY RUINED BY FIRE AND MEN WERE CAUGHT IN DEATH TRAP.

Odebolt, Ia., Feb. 11. -- Three men were killed, seven more injured in the collapse of the ruins of the MADISON-MOTLE general store here this afternoon.
The dead are:
CHARLES KRUSENSTJERNA.
HARRY JOHNSON; seriously injured.
MAT MAYER; will die.
YOUNG TITUS.
ANDREW SARSTROM.
JOSEPH CONRAD.
GIL McFARLAND.
Monday night, the store caught fire and the interior of the building burned out.
The men who were caught in the death trap were working on the inside of an unsupported wall. While an effort was being made to straighten the wall it collapsed, a mass of bricks falling inward and burying eight or ten men.
