WRECK.

Three Trainmen Injured on the Nickel Plate.

Three men were painfully injured and property damage amounting to about two thousand dollars was done when two Nickel Plate freight trains came together at South Whitley shortly after noon yesterday. The injured:

OTTO G. FIELDS, fireman; head cut, face torn and body bruised.

CHARLES A. BOYCE, engineer; bruised about body.

GEORGE MILLS, fireman; cut about the head and face.

All the injured trainmen live in Fort Wayne. The wreck was caused by what is known among railroad men as “short flagging.” The trains both were sections of No. 38, and the first stopped at a curve because of engine troubles. The second section swung around and plowed into it.
