Indianapolis, IN Opened Dynamite Cartridge with Harpin, Mar 1898

At Indianapolis, yesterday, Miss Grace Marshall, a society belle, opened a dynamite cartridge with a hairpin. The result was quite unexpected to the young lady. The explosion tore off one finger and a thumb, injured the sight of one eye and tore the flesh from her hip. In the future Miss Marshall will arrange to open her dynamite cartridges by electricity, at a distance of about four miles.
