Jacksonville, Ind., May 2 (U.P.)-A tornado tore through this village today, destroying eight houses and injuring three persons. The twister followed the railroad track through the residential section, cutting a path a block wide. Torrents of rain accompanied the wind.

Child Slumbers As Tornado Blows Her From Bedroom

By The Associated Press.
Jacksonville, Ind., May 3.-A tornado that left 75 persons homeless blew 7-year-old Frona Gentry out of her bedroom yesterday and into the street, but failed to disturb her sleep. The home of her father was destroyed. Rescuers found the lifeless body of Frona’s pet poodle 100 yards away and then noticed Frona’s bed in the street.

They unfolded it, and inside was Frona, still slumbering.
