SCHOOLHOUSE BURNED.

Fire Supposed to Have Started From the Furnace----Loss $17,500.

HUNTINGTON, Ind., May, 15.-----The Third ward school building in this city was totally destroyed by fire yesterday. The origin is unknown, but it is supposed to have started from the furnace in the basement. When the fire was first noticed the whole interior of the building was in flames. a high wind prevented the fire department from doing effective work, and nothing whatever was saved. The loss on the building is estimated at about $15,000. The books belonging to the scholars and teachers will figure up an additional loss of about $2,500. There is an insurance of $8,000 on the building.
