Girl at Bass Lake Drowned Monday

Miss Ethel Marion Osbey of Riverdale, Ill., age 13, drowned Monday, July 4, in Bass lake, near the Kaserhoff Hotel. She was visiting with Mr. and Mrs. August Johnson of San Pierre, Ind. They went to the lake for a picnic dinner. Shortly after dinner the girl went into the water and swam out over the deep place. There were about a hundred people in the water at the time, when they heard the cries they rushed to her assistance as fast as they could, but were too late. A pulmotor (sic) was used but they could not revive her.
