Martinsville Electrician Killed While Repairing Broken Wire.

MARTINSVILLE, Ind., July 7,- While repairing a broken wire carrying current from the city lighting plant, after the storm, which plunged the city into darkness tonight, FLOYD OAKES, 26, electrician, was electrocuted when the entire voltage of the wire passed through his body. He is survived by his widow and two children.

The storm which hit Martinsville was one of the most severe in the city’s history. Much damage was done to wheat and corn in the bottom lands and small streams overflowed their banks, tearing out bridges and flooding farms. Scores of trees were blown down, causing a considerable amount of injury to the streets and private property. Many basements were flooded.
