Climb Ladders to Rescue Train Wreck Victims

By The Associated Press.

Chicago, Ill., March 3.-Three trainmen were killed and more than twenty passengers were injured, fifteen seriously in a head on collision of an Illinois Central suburban train and a Michigan Central fast freight, on the south side early Wednesday.

The dead are EDWARD E. BENJAMIN, conductor; T.A. CRYCLER, fireman, and OLE NELSON, passenger.

For two hours after the wreck injured men and women were being taken from the debris and sent to hospitals. Rescuers climbed to the train on ladders as the tracks are high above the street level at the point of the crash.
