John Mitchell Hurt In Wreck

La Salle, Ill., Feb. 16.-John Mitchell, former president of the United Mine Workers, was in a wreck near here yesterday, and suffered a slight injury to his hand. Eleven others were injured in the head-end collision between two interurban cars on a curve. The motorman failed to stop at the switch, and the cars met on a hill. None was badly hurt, but several were pinioned under the wreckage. Both cars were smashed. Mitchell’s injuries were dressed here and later he departed for New York.
