St. Louis April 2?-Specials from Carlinville Taylorville Greenfield Springfield and other places in Central Illinois say a terrific tornado passed through Green Christian Sanganion and other counties last night and destroyed an immense amount of property killed a dozen of more of people and injured a large number

Near Taylorville the cyclone was terrific Many houses were demolished and the inmates crippled killed or carried away and are still missing May were rendered homeless by the storm which lasted from 7 00 p m to midnight

Alonzo Cullens house was blown to atoms one of his children was killed out right and another carried off and found dead in the morning Mrs T J Langtry was killed John Gessner has his skull fractured and will die A man named Watts and his wife were blown about a quarter of a mil locked in each others arms and were found badly cut, bruised and insensible T. W. Brenty, Mr Elliott, wife and two children a little daughter of Ed Leigh, and Thomas Hill were badly injured Hundreds of cattle, sheep and hogs were crippled and killed and fowls were found in the line of the cyclone dead and devastated of their plumage Reports of damage are constantly being received at Taylorville and relief measures for the destitute are being taken It seems that the storm of last week in their intense violence and destructiveness have never been equaled in this part of the country
