Crack Hydroplane Is Wreck in Lake

Chicago, Aug. 28--While Commodore Jim Pugh’s crack $25,000 hydroplane Disturber V., was going at a great clip on her maiden trip on Lake Michigan today, a rowboat darted across its path and the speed-boat swerved, turned completely over and plunged to the bottom of the lake at the foot of Randolph street with its driver and mechanician, Ned Summons, and Michael Mazzinski. Both extricated themselves and rose to the surface. They were taken to a hospital and revived. The boat tonight lies at the bottom of the lake. An effort will be made to raise the boat and have it ready for the championships, September 7 to 15.
