Lake Yields Body Of Former Model
EVANSTON, Ill., (AP)---The body of Marilyn Roble, 25, beautiful former Powers model, was found yesterday in Lake Michigan clad only in brassiere and torn panties.
Miss Roble, daughter of Mrs. Grace Roble, Minneapolis, was reported missing by her finace[sic], Richard Tobias, a student at Northwestern university.
Evanston police said Tobias told them he had a date with Miss Roble Wednesday night "and everything seemed perfectly all right."
However, police said the young woman's landlady told them Miss Roble was carrying a suitcase when she left for her job as publicity woman in Chicago's merchandise mart Thursday morning. Tobias reported his fiancée missing Thursday after she failed to report for work and he was unable to reach her, police said.
A spokesman for an undertaking firm said Miss Roble's body bore no evidence of violence and that she appeared to have met death by drowning.
