Woodlawn, IL Tornado, May 1883

South of Jacksonville the property of Chas. Waters, Marion Edwards, John Rawlins, Judge Samuel Woods, at Woodlawn and James Oxley was partially destroyed. Mrs. Oxley is perhaps fatally injured, and a little son had his collar bone and arm broken. Mrs. Oxley was about to become a mother. A tramp in Judge Wood's barn was fearfully injured. The Jacksonville & Southeastern Railroad depot at Woodlawn was totally demolished, and heavy cars were lifted up and dissected in mid-air.
