Fire Sweeps Hotel in Shawneetown, 3 Perish

Shawneetown, Ill., Dec. 14.-(AP)-A second fire disaster in four months struck Shawneetown early today when three persons and possibly a fourth were burned to death in the Host House, a small hotel in the new Shawneetown settlement.

The dead are Mrs. Cyrus Naugles, 45, manager of a Shawneetown department store, Frank Crow, about 40, and Josiah Baird, both magazine salesmen of Bluffs, Ill. A woman identified by the hotel manager as Miss Green of Louisville, Ky., was missing.

Byrd Garrison of Harco, Ill., and Mrs. Fannie Riley of Shawneetown were among the most seriously injured in the fire. Several others were being treated for minor burns at the hospital here.
