Signals Wrong; Three Men Dead.

Joliet, Ill., June 6.----Three persons were killed and twenty seriously injured in a collision between an Elgin, Joliet and Eastern freight and an Aurora and Joliet electric car at Big Slough, seven miles west of Joliet. W. W. WALFELD, Aurora; C. H. WHITTINGTON, Plainfield, and F. W. BEALE, a bricklayer of Chicago, were killed. The injured include Arthur Mitchell, Arthur Layfield, Joseph Boyne, Chris Shalk, all of Joliet. The accident was due to misplaced signals.
