Centralia, Ill. -- Five persons were killed and more that a score injured when Seminole Limited No. 3 running fifty miles an hour crashed into the rear and telescoped passenger train No. 25 standing at the station at Kinmundy, Ill. A private car of the Great Northern, attached to the rear of train No. 25, was demolished. The occupants of the private car were either killed or seriously injured.

Four persons were killed in the private car of F. O. MELCHER, second vice president of the Rock Island railroad. Among the dead is J. T. HARAHAN, SR., former president of the Illinois Central. The private car was attached to the Seminole Flyer No. 25, which was standing, taking water when No. 3 struck it, the engine of No. 3, plowing through the private car.

ELDRIDGE E. WRIGHT, attorney, son of former Secretary of War LUKE E. WRIGHT of Memphis.
