St. John’s German Catholic Church in Champaign was blown from it’s foundation and was so wrecked it is considered a total loss. The church was being remodeled and would soon have been completed. A considerable sum of money had recently been spent on the structure, and it was expected to be one of the finest churches of that denomination in that part of the country. Rev. Adolph Geyer, the pastor, intends to consult the bishop at Peoria before making any plans in regard to the building.
