Sullivan, IL Baker Farm Fire, Aug 1904

Forty Acres of Oats Burned.
Sullivan, Ills. Aug 16 - - Billy Wamack, who is the tenant on the farm west of here owned by J. H. Baker, sustained a severe loss yesterday by the burning of the crop of oats from a forth acre field. Sparks from the engine of the thresher set the stubble afire and it spread so rapidly it could not be controlled. Dennis Landers, owner of the machine was badly burned in trying to save it.
