FATAL BOILER EXPLOSION.

TWO MEN KILLED AND TWO MORTALLY INJURED AT BALDWIN, ILL.

Baldwin, Ill., April 11. -- The boiler in FINK'S saw mill exploded today, almost instantly killing two men and fatally injuring two others. The explosion took place just as the engineer was starting up the engine. The boiler and engine were blown about one hundred and fifty yards from the mill without touching the ground and then tumbled end over end a distance of fifty feet.
ISAAC HOLDEN, the engineer, was blown about fifty feet and his head was nearly severed from his body. He was dead before assistance reached him.
JAMES R. MITCHELL was thrown across the log that was being sawed and had one leg sawed off, and sustained other injuries that caused immediate death. HENRY C. FINK, the owner of the mill, received several cuts on the head and other serious injuries which may prove fatal. JOHN HENRY, who was working the sawdust in the pit, received a cut in his head, but was able to give the particulars of the accident. The engine was a very old one, and was considered dangerous when purchased by MR. FINK.
