The Fire at Wenona, Ill.-Loss $140,000.
Chicago, May 20.-Further particulars of the fire which occurred at Wenona, Ill., on the 18th, show that it was more extensive and destructive than at first reported. Almost the entire business portion of the town was burned, including a large block of wooden buildings, occupied by dealers in dry goods, shoes, groceries, drugs, jewelry, &c.; the steam elevator, owned by Buckingham Brothers, of Chicago; the Central Railway Depot, freight-house, telegraph and express offices. Loss $140,000; insurance $23,000, principally in the Etna and Hartford Companies.
