BAD WRECK

Smash-up in the Illinois Central Yards at Dyersville.

At 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon a rear-end collision between a through freight and a way freight train on the Illinois Central occurred in the station yards of Dyersville. The locomotive of the through freight telescoped the caboose of the way freight, throwing tons of material into the depot, which was almost totally demolished. The caboose was well filled with men.

NICHOLAS CORRIGAN of Cedar Falls, injured internally and badly scalded, died of injuries.

The injured are: THOMAS MARTIN of Earlville, and Engineer H. HAYDEN of Waterloo.

Traffic was seriously delayed for hours. The damage amounts to several thousand dollars.
