WOMAN VICTIM OF LIGHTNING

TWIN FALLS—Death came suddenly and in a very peculiar manner to Mrs. A. A. Davis, three miles west of Filer, at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. As she was scrubbing the porch lightning from a rain cloud overhead struck it, and charged the water so heavily in which she was standing as to cause almost instant death from shock. Her husband, lying on a couch in the room adjoining, rushed to her and asked what he could do. She replied “nothing,” and expired almost immediately.

The lightning broke a window on the porch, but a little girl at the window was unharmed. Mrs. Davis was 36 years old and leaves four small children, the youngest being but a few months old. Destructive lightning is very rare here. There was no heavy storm either preceding or following the flash of lightning.
