FIRE DESTROYS FOUR-STORY HOTEL TODAY IN BOISE.

Boise (AP) -- Fire raged through the four-story Oxford Hotel in downtown Boise this morning. No casualties were reported, though there was conflicting information about whether all occupants had escaped.
Firemen said the blaze started in the basement of the hotel, and burned out two lower-story businesses and the Emerald Room Lounge.
The precise number of occupants was unclear. Firemen reported rescuing six or eight persons, most elderly, by using ladders to get to upper stories of the buring structure.
Early reports from the scene had indicated seven occupants were not accounted for. However, fire officials said later that no injuries had been confirmed and speculated some tenants may have been away when the fire broke out.
