Macon, GA Street Car - Wagon Accident, Sept 1912
ASKS $3,500 DAMAGES FROM STREET RAILWAY.
T. W. Amorson Claims He Was Hurt to That Extent When Car Hit Wagon, Fly in "Dope" Brings Damage Suit.
For a tort upon the person of T. W. Amerson on September 21, the Macon Railway and Light Company was made defendant in the city court yesterday morning under a $3,500 damage suit filled by Walter Defore, attorney.
Plaintiff alleges negligence on the part of the defendant company and tells the story of his injury in the following manner: He says his wagon was standing near the curb on the right side of Hardeman avenue and was headed in the direction of Vineville. There was another vehicle in front of his wagon and horse.
Mr. Amerson avers he started to pull out to the right and toward the car tracks when he saw a car about 300 feet away, coming toward him at a high and dangerous rate of speed. He says the track was straight and the motorman had plenty of time to see his team, but, notwithstanding this, the car came thundering on and crashed into his wagon.
Mr. Amerson was thrown out, he alleges, and injured about his body, internally and in his right thigh. He declares his earning capacity has been cut down to one-third of what it was originally. He gives his age at 54 years.
