STREET CAR STRIKES MOVING TRAIN

GAINESVILLE, Ga., Aug. 24.---As a switch engine of the Gainesville Midland Railway was crossing Main street near the Southern depot at 9:45 this morning, an electric car of the Gainesville Street Railway ran into it with a load of passengers and the front platform of the car was torn off. Motorman Whit Evans was badly bruised by the impact: W. P. Graves, a travelling salesman was also considerably bruised and passengers were badly shaken up, though no one was seriously hurt.

A negro hotel porter was thrown to the ground and the car platform was pitcher over his body. The street car track was wet from rains, and when the brakes were applied the car slid.
