DAMAGE AT DAWSON

A Heavy Storm Destroys Crops--Several Houses Badly Damaged.

Dawson, Ga., April 28.--(Special)--A most destructive hail storm visited this section this afternoon, accompanied by wind, lurid lighting and deafening thunder. The crops of vegetables and fruits are seriously damaged. The forward crop of cotton is absolutely ruined and the supply of cotton seed is about exhausted.

Several houses were blown down. W. J. Connaway’s new two-story dwelling, near the Columbus Southern depot, was struck by lightning and the entire building badly damaged. His father’s family, the occupants of the house, were all shocked and stunned. Their escape from serious injury or death seems marvelous.
