$150,000 FIRE IN FLORIDA.

Town of Milton Is Nearly Wiped Out---Business Section Gone.

PENSACOLA, Fla., Jan. 31.---The town of Milton, thirty miles east of Pensacola, was almost laid in ruins to-day by fire. The entire business section and several residences were destroyed. The total loss is in the neighborhood of $150,000.

Two banks, the City Hall, the Waldorf Hotel, the Santa Rosa Star Building, two livery stables, and a dozen stores were destroyed. The building of the First National Bank and just been completed at a cost of $35,000. A strong northwest wind fanned the flames.

The fire was making progress in the residence quarter when a special train with Pensacola fire fighters arrived an put out the flames.
