New Haven, CT Train Wreck, Sept 1913 - Others on the Train
BOY CAMPERS AMONG VICTIMS.
A party of sixty-five boy campers returning from Monmouth, Mr., were in a Pullman car in which was overturned. Two of these boys, WILLIAM ALTSCHUL, of Norfolk, Va., and ALBERT GREEN, of New York, were killed.
A party of young girl campers, pupils of the Sidwell Friends school at Washington, D. C., returning from Bellgrade Lakes, Me., were in other cars of the Bar Harbor express. They were not injured.
CHAMPION GOLFER MAY BE DEAD.
Philadelphia, Sept. 2. - The dead man wearing a ring bearing the initials "S. C. F.," is believed to be S. Crozer Fox of Elkins Park, Pa., a suburb. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Caleb F. Fox, Jr., are at present in camp at Jackman, Me., and the son who was a member of a stock brokerage firm, was visiting his parents. Mr. Fox is well known as one of the champion golfers of the country.
OTHER PROMINENT MEN.
H. F. MARTIN of Bryn Mawr, Pa., also killed, was a widely known engineer. ROBERT M. YAHN, one of the killed, was a member of a firm conducting a chain of cigar stores in Philadelphia. He was thirty-four.
A. Mercer Biddle, Jr., injured, is the nineteen-year-old son of A. Mercer Biddle, a social leader of Philadelphia.
